Choosing The Right Dispenser

Choosing the right PETA Dispenser is a simple three-step process:

1. Choose the treatment needed

I need treatment for: Dispenser to Choose:
Bloat Bloat Dispenser
Facial Eczema Zinc Dispenser
Grass Staggers (Hypomagnesaema) Multi-Purpose Dispenser
Sodium deficiency Multi-Purpose Dispenser
Trace Elements Multi-Purpose Dispenser

2. Choose the treatment period

PETA Dispensers are cleverly engineered, with patent protected technology, to dispense the supplements over the treatment period.

Bloat Dispensers:

Choose either the 12-hour units or a 24-hour unit. The 12-hour units are designed to match the drinking pattern of milking cows. The 24-hour dispenser is good for beef cattle and dry stock as it matches the longer 24-hour drinking pattern.

Zinc and Multi-Purpose Dispensers:

Choose either the 24-hour or 48-hour dispenser.  This means an application lasts 24 hours or 48 hours. The 48-hour dispenser is ideal for dry stock, run offs, and other farm stock. The 24-hour dispenser is best for milkers.

3. Choose size of container and cap

The size of your herd will determine the size of container that you need.

Once you identify the size of container you will use, choose the dispenser with the equivalent cap size.

Zinc & Multi-Purpose Dispenser Container Sizes

Herd Size 24-hr Dispenser 48-hr Dispenser
Up to 80 5L flagon 10L jerrycan
80-220 10L jerrycan 20L jerrycan
220+ 20L jerrycan 20L jerrycan

Bloat Container Size

Herd Size 12-hr Dispenser 24-hr Dispenser
Up to 200 5L flagon 5L flagon
200+ 2 x 5L flagon or 10L jerrycan 2 x 5L flagon or 10L jerrycan

Herds with less than 200 cows can use a 5L flagon.  If your herd size is over 200 cows you may need the 10L jerrycan, or two dispensers in 5L flagons, otherwise the solution in the bottle may be too thick to dispense properly.

Cap sizes available:

New Zealand dispensers come in two different lid sizes. One to fit “5L or 10L Jerrycan” and the other to fit “20L Jerrycan”. It is important you purchase the correct size dispenser to fit your container.

5-or-10-jerrycan

If the container size you need is a 5L flagon or 10L jerrycan look for this label on the front and side of the box.

20L-jerrycan

If the container size you need is a 20L jerrycan look for this label on the front and side of the box. (Note: Bloat Dispensers do not offer a 20L size).

In Australia a single cap fits all three sizes of container. So there are no dispenser sizes to pick from.  Just purchase the dispenser, and choose whatever size container you need.

In UK a single cap fits both the 10L and 20L sizes of container. (There is no 5L flagon option).  So there are no dispenser sizes to pick from.  Just purchase the dispenser, and choose whatever size container you need.

Dedicated Containers:

We always recommend having dedicated containers that are only used for the dispensers, to ensure that you do not accidentally use the container for anything harmful – such as poison.

You should mark your containers very clearly.  In New Zealand stores you can purchase PETA branded containers which make it easy to clearly identify them as being only used for dispensers.

Available in New Zealand, Australia, UK, Japan and more.
